Barr's Hill School Judged GOOD by Ofsted
Barr’s Hill School and The Futures Trust are celebrating after Ofsted upgraded its judgement of the school from Required to Improve to GOOD.
The report concluded that outcomes for pupils have markedly improved. “Leaders, governors and The Futures Trust are unwavering in their drive for excellence. They know the school's strengths and weaknesses and work collaboratively to address any underperformance"
"Outcomes for pupils are markedly improved. This is because of effective teaching and a newly designed, balanced curriculum. Teachers track pupils’ performance rigorously and they put effective support in place when they fall behind and need to catch up."
In their report Ofsted comment "with the help of the trust, the school is fully staffed with expert teachers in every learning area."
Ofsted were particularly complimentary about student behaviour and 'The Bridge', a concept that has worked well in other trust schools and which has now been implemented with outstanding results at Barr's Hill School.
